May feel up to tackling the loop up in the forest soon. It goes up a ridge and then down the adjacent canyon--1500 ft climb, a long downhill and another 700 ft climb out of the canyon. It's the last bit that worries me as I'm not sure what the conditions are on the lower trail. Perhaps I'll try going down that section and back up, before I try doing the whole loop.
