At one stage last week the forecast for the next few days was "hot", "very hot", and "even hotter". And they were right! The "even hotter" day was Monday, when it got to 41C. It's cooled down now though.

I haven't received my card in time for the holiday, because apparently it takes them two or three weeks before the application is even entered into the system. At least I'll still get 5000 frequent flyer points for my trouble.

gcc

Our software is still not compiling with gcc 3.3.2 due to system header files. I haven't made any progress on it. Is there a Unix worse than Solaris/Intel?

French lessons

The holiday means I'll miss French lessons for five weeks, and by then I'll be so far behind I won't be able to catch up. I'm considering doing some private lessons to bridge the gap.

The plan for tomorrow

Bring in the last-minute washing. Finish packing. Pack MP3 player (currently charging), and more clothing (currently drying). Use BA's online check-in thing (assuming it's working) to get better seats on the Singapore to Heathrow flight. Do some last-minute cleaning (there's a rent inspection while I'm away). Drive to mum's place. Get a lift to the airport.
