My computer is now back to the state that it started in before last night's shenanigans. I will be taking measures to prevent such disasters from happening again.

Inside: Precautions, Sydney, scary messages

Precautions

Tonight I will perform the following preventative measures to prevent another occurrence similar to last night:

  • Burn a grub boot CD
  • Backup all my important stuff
  • Burn another boot CD and store it in a different location
I'll leave the reinstallation of Windows to another night. Seriously, there has to be a better way to prevent Windows from destroying MBRs than unplugging other drives.

Sydney

Went to Sydney last week for work. We didn't start until 11am every day, so that gave us a few hours to either sleep in (Tuesday and Friday) or do stuff (Wednesday and Thursday). On Wednesday I took my camera for a walk from Kings Cross into the city, through the botanic gardens, and back again.

On Thursday I went down to Bondi with one of the other guys. He swam, I walked around for a while. I was actually quite impressed that such a famous beach could be so reasonable. It looked better than Manly did last time I was there.

This doesn't look good

Indeed. I don't think we'll be telling them that.

One of the best open air concerts I went to was DefFX in the Bondi Pavillion. It was that really cool mix of concrete, sand, salt air and loud music. Lot of fun.

When I lived down in the city, I would often catch a bus to the botanical gardens, wander through the NSW Art Gallery, wander down to Lady Macquaries chair and then lie in the sun with the harbour infront of me.

Feel you pain with the os' I installed netbsd on a pc the other night and discovered that csh doesnt have tab completion. I was completely lost. Like using command.com!
