I've just bought a new Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, to replace my old generic optical mouse that died a couple of weeks ago. So far I'm liking it a lot. It's a good size and a good shape. It's funny, but in general I like Microsoft hardware. It's running on PS2 rather than USB at the moment, and I haven't tried to get the 4th and 5th buttons to work. Not sure when I'll get around to doing that.
It would be nice if we got some decent mice at work. We're all still using ball mice. Some of the guys from work gave up and bought their own optical mice last week. Today I tried to bring my old optical mouse back to life at work, but it died again after a brief 30 minute reincarnation.
My old mouse was a "Belinea" brand. I wonder if that's because you're always wishing that it would move in a straight line.
Work today
It's looking increasingly like I'm going to have to rework one of the components of our system. It doesn't do what it's supposed to, because the documentation that describes what it's meant to do is dodgy. At the moment the rework is in the type up Word documents and send them to managers pointing out how much work it is phase. I don't want to talk about work any more.
French
Today at work we resumed our French lessons for the year. There's still not been a satisfactory explanation of why we get free French lessons. Chances are it has something to do with our parent company being French, but even so it's unlikely to ever be useful for work. Today's lesson was mostly revision.
Reception venue photos
Here are a couple of photos of the Padbury Stables at Rosehill, where we've decided to have our reception. We've even made a tentative booking for March 19 2005.
