Me. Web. Reading. Scoop stats. Music stats. Origin of "poetry in motion"?

Multipoll! Tardblog, tard-blog fake? What decade do you have most music from?

Me
So, finished work. Took all my holiday time, though might end up going back sooner if they ask me. Going back to spend Xmas with parents on Wednesday.

Haven't got anywhere with the dodgy-codec problem: think I'll have to stick to legitimate distribution. Annoying: I've got a load of unwatched movies that would have been handy over Xmas.

Web
Curious. There used to be a website called tardblog.com written by a Special Ed teacher using the nickname Riti Sped. That disappeared a while ago, but now a new domain tard-blog has appeared.

Now while the old tardblog seemed pretty realistic to me, the new "Kristy Pell" stories don't seem very convincing. There's more grossness but it's more repetitive and less likely. How come the notoriously uncoordinated 'tards can now accurately throw faeces into a teacher's face? Why would Pell ask a first date to meet her outside school and then take a random 'tard home? Why are they in school if they can't even be taught not to eat excreta (several incidents)? Plus the condom, grass and butch-lesbian incidents all seem a bit too much like generic frat-boy humour. It's also part of a web-ring of similar material.

I'm sure this is a fake: just wondering now if the original was too, just a better one...

Reading
Not much. Started a Teach Yourself on "Roman Civilization" but it's not that interesting. Saw the complete Maus in the library, but that might be too depressing.

Scoop Stats
Bit late with this, not that anyone cares. Could do with some new blood, guys.

Music Stats
So my main iRiver folders are arranged by decade, plus Jazz and Classical. Here's the song count:
Music stats

Odd: I was expecting more of a bell curve peaking around the 1980's. I guess it's the old injustice: you can afford the most stuff when you're too old to appreciate it. Maybe file-sharing will change all that...

To be fair, my tape collection probably peaks where I thought.

Etymology question
Where does the phrase "poetry in motion" come from? There was a movie of that name and a novelty song with those lyrics in 1982: haven't managed to track it back any further...

2 weeks at #1 - 15 weeks on chart

It was an unholy union of text and pulped wood that the Ancients used to distribute their blogs.

...to make the history of Roman civilization uninteresting. I'm sure all the Latinists in the house will feel my love and back me up on this.

Hmmm. On second thought: are there any Latinists in the hizza, or would this be all Hellenists up in here?

It's not really a history by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #4 Sun Dec 19, 2004 at 01:00:50 AM EST
It's more a discussion of Roman society, culture, etc...

As the Romans Did

It's a collection of primary sources: fragments from letters, tombstones, grocery lists, etc. The fragments are all translated into English and arranged to give a sense of what life was like in Roman antiquity.

How do I narrow it down to a decade ... by lm (4.00 / 1) #6 Sun Dec 19, 2004 at 04:07:14 PM EST
... when I've got a music collection that spans centuries?

Use "or earlier" by TheophileEscargot (2.00 / 0) #7 Sun Dec 19, 2004 at 07:42:58 PM EST
More importantly: when tagging classical MP3s, should the date contain the recording date or the date it was composed?
