Though if my trained eye can detect 100% cycling or 100% fencing content, I usually skip it.

Sort of like roller derby, but with bikes and sabres. A sabre in the spokes is always a crowd pleaser.

Anyway, I add people to my list whenever I see an exceptional diary, but for the most part I read everyone, even if it's just a glance.

I used to use the hotlist on k5, but here, I just haven't bothered. I'm either in the state where I don't have time to read, in which I skim for a few people, the value of "few" depending on time, or I am in the state where I have lots of time to read, where I basically read (or skim) pretty much anything that looks vaguely interesting.

If the crap/interesting ratio ever gets bad, I'll probably start hotlisting.
