Ladies and gentlemen... the bastard has come to HuSi.

The past few months in short: Got laid off. Stopped reading kuro5hin almost entirely due to the rather obvious nose dive in quality. Started school. Have become amazed at the level of writing I am able to get away with. Experiencing no nookie, which is the sole source of my rage at this point. Miss working with the using masses, if only because without the feeling of murderous rage that has become my mainstay of emotions.

Other than that... not much. I am once again available for all of your megalomanical violence needs.

I know where the jobs are by theboz (3.00 / 0) #4 Tue Nov 18, 2003 at 08:13:47 PM EST
I just went to Texas, and there seems to actually be some growth here. I just started work last week, and two more people are going to be starting soon.

Well, anyway, its good to see that there is growth someplace. The city of my domicile was just rated the second fastest growing metropolian area (job wise) in all of Ohio. Yet the experts still think it will be at least two years before all the currently unemployed IT people are reabsorbed.

I'm so glad that I'm about to drink the Kool-Aid™.

Speaking of Kool-Aid™, did you know that today was the 25th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre?

Is it a massacre when a large group of people want to die though?

As far as the jobs go, your best bet is to become a consultant for something. There is no job security whatsoever anymore, so you might as well get paid higher for the 8 months out of a year that you can have a job than you would for working the entire year for someone. The downside is that you have to travel a lot (if that's a downside to you) and that you are expected to perform better than a full-time employee.

25 years ago I was less than a year old, and they don't teach about things like that in history class. I assumed that it was just a bunch of weird cultists that were all adults.

We have a quorum. I call for a vote on activating the orbital death station.

All in favor, say 'Aye'.

Checked the file and it was still legit.

The Legion of Doom? by Lost In A Dream (6.00 / 1) #20 Wed Nov 19, 2003 at 07:14:20 AM EST

That's pretty good, but I always kind of considered us the four horsemen:

  • Armaphine: Death (obviously)
  • Phil: Pestilence (Ms. Bitch deserving)
  • jcw: Time (depending on who you ask, this could be other things)
  • Lost: Famine (should go without saying why)

Well, welcome aboard and all that.

It's a shame you waited so long though, cause now you have a real sucky uid. After all, all the cool kids have uid's of less than 6.

Warmest regards,
