Dunno why, not even so hungover I'm drunk or anything. Bizarre.

Poll: Have many problems moving?

Quelle surprise, Turnham Green place turned out to be a right shitpit. Oh, and available a day after I needed it. The fucked thing is, I found out that the letting agent fully knew this. Apparently, I should be able to kip round someone's house for a night. Yeah, nice one love, and what about the rest of my gear you stupid bint, damn your great tits.

Anyways, phoned up my current landlord, explained the situation and asked for an extra week. Which I got. Yay!

However, then spoke to builder flatmate who was going to help me move, him having a fuckoff big van and all. Stupid fucker got caught drink driving and lost his licence. What a tit, if nothing else, he needs to be able to drive to do his job. Prick.

Now once again looking at houseshares in Battersea. Just means I'm going to have to ruin my morning by speaking with letting agent bint. Fucking foreigners, coming over here...

Flashing her tits at you and making wild assumptions about you having friends to stay over with eh?  What is the world coming to?

Just pissed off that she so casually assumed I'd be able to lug a vanload's worth of crap (books, keyboards, computers blah blah blah) to a friend's house at a drop of a hat, only to then fuck off a day later - I mean, that's not a way to become popular, it's damned inconvenient for everyone concerned.

You missed the poll by Dr H0ffm4n (3.00 / 0) #3 Tue Sep 30, 2003 at 10:13:14 PM EST
Unless it was only write in, in which case it's a tie breaker or something.

Anyway, troubles moving...

The main problems I have now are:

  1. Having to go back and get the last remaining non essential stuff from my other house and get some cleaning bods in.
  2. No sofa, no wardrobe, no clothes drawers, no curtains and loads of cardboard boxes.
Nothing got broke and I overlapped the two houses by three weeks so that I could move at leisure. Less stress.

Kebab houses by TPD (3.00 / 0) #7 Tue Sep 30, 2003 at 11:25:06 PM EST
I do rate Archway Kebabs (probably the Best Kebab house in the world).

Finsbury park the one next to the deathwish is not bad - (Naturally they got a few chairs thrown through their window when Arsenal lost to Galatasary a few years ago).

Also Arsenal Kebabs - I've only had one once when off my face but it was pretty damn good.

lost his license ? by sasquatchan (3.00 / 0) #9 Wed Oct 01, 2003 at 01:55:00 AM EST
Hell, I thought DUI was the sport of the common man, everyone did it, you had a laugh with the bobby, and off you went ? (Granted, I thought everyone rode the subway everywhere as well .. )

DUI in the UK by gazbo (5.00 / 1) #10 Wed Oct 01, 2003 at 02:15:31 AM EST
Very, very serious. There has been a big campaign about it for so long that it is now not only very illegal, but completely socially unacceptable too. Must surely be one of the most successful campaigns ever.

Maybe back in the 60s (and 70s?) it would have been as you described, but now DUI has a real negative stigma.

Moving problems by sven (3.00 / 0) #11 Wed Oct 01, 2003 at 12:30:09 PM EST
The time before last it was pouring with rain for half the day. We carefully wrapped the bed in plastic, tied it on to the trailer, and started driving. Within 30 seconds of getting onto the freeway, the plastic was off. It's funny in hindsight.

The last time I moved it was 42 degrees C. Enough said.

I don't know which was worse.
