Brazil vs Australia: getting better
France vs Korea: despair

Poll: video judging?

Brazil vs Australia
Final outcome: Brazil wins 2-0
Overall apreciation: nice game

Despite their victory against Croatia, the Brazilian team failed to convince they were worth another cup. This game was played better and more successfully, they still don't play as champions should be playing. They've even been stolen the glitter by Argentina (Oh no! Not them again!).
Ronaldo seemed more confident and willing, however he still have difficulties to lift his fat leg. He isn't at his top level of physical form but he made an incredible move to pass the ball to Adriano (who shoot and scored at 49'). Imo he's quite dangerous by looking fat and tired since he's still dextrous may have a brilliant inspiration at any moment.
Fred easily scored at 89' by saving a Robinho unlucky shoot. Robinho and Fred: the next generation of Brazilian attackers. They're quick and sharp (Robinho still lack a bit of maturity: play with your team ffs). Ronaldinho was grand as usual, he doesn't stop smiling and for that alone, he's a great player.
Dida is a good keeper (don't laugh) but he's not conforting. He fumbled badly twice and, thanks to the lack of Australian opportunism, the consequences were limited. Credit be given to Aussies: they fought wholeheartedly... after the first Brazillian goal. The fuckers were playing very safe and absolutely defensive (yes, insults for those who seek a draw match), they revealed a good capacity for offensive game a bit too late. There's a lesson here, guys.

Brazil will be in the eighth (what a surprise), the other one in the pool could be any of Australia, Croatia or Japan. However I think Croatia has the best chances, and the most merit.

France vs Korea
Final outcome: 1-1 draw
Overall apreciation: f...!

Okay. The French made a splendid first half, fast and successful (Enry scored at 9'), totally dominating Korea. Even Zidane was running. Then they paused. French football players should not have a pause. The whole team relaxed and Korea eventually scored at 80ish'. Afterwards France got angry and made some pleasant occasions (that Henry missed, of course). They're fucking idiots, they should've maintained the pressure instead of carting around, happy with a single goal.
Next game will be against Togo o Friday, without Zidane or Abidal (two yellows each)... if Togo plays at all. France have to win with at least two goals in order to play further. Allez les Bleus! Allez les Bleus! Allez les Bleus!

Mmm. I had the impresion that the judging was lousy (again) but I reflected on this. Football is judged with a single man on the field (plus offside judges). However the television filming technology has increased a lot lately: we're able to see the game in a very close and intrusive way. Thus we can see more mis-judgings than we had before. In France' and Kora's game, this was particularly manifest since one goal was overlooked (no judge could have possibly seen it, actaully). I'm not trying to find excuses to French players or to whine my way through unfairness, they deserved every bit that draw. However the FIFA guys should think about video judging (like rugby), weight the pros (better judging) and the cons (rythm breaking).

Other pools: congratulations to all those who are already qualified to the eighth, except Argentina: they can rot in quarters with the pimp-ex-cheater-cokenose-pseudochampion supporter of theirs.
I'll be keeping an eye on the E pool since anything may happen and second qualified will probably meet Brazil. Btw cheers to the States for keeping stand against Italia.
