The HBO article is wrong about male nudity Game of Thrones, but in a way that reinforces its point.  There have been two other instances beyond the one that they mention.  Hodor appeared completely naked (for comic relief) and the guy who tried poison Daenerys appears completely naked being dragged behind a horse (to emphasize his powerlessness.)

It is pretty well known that female nudity on HBO shows is something required by the corporate heads.  I seem to recall reading somewhere that there is a contractual requirement to display female nudity in every episode, something that explains the lengths GoT (and other shows) have gone to find excuses for naked women.

In other words, this isn't a possible of unconscious bias but a very deliberate plan.

Is that male nudity is coded for comedy. If you introduce it into a scene that's intended to be serious, a certain percentage of the audience will start laughing.

And this is why, from now on, I am only posting to HuSi while completely naked.

Am I allowed a towel on my seat?
