I don't get it. by gmd (4.00 / 1) #3 Wed Dec 04, 2013 at 12:53:33 PM EST
Why would you throw away a perfectly good fork? Surely a bit of disinfectant would have killed off any bacteria?

Well, there are a couple of factors by Gedvondur (4.00 / 1) #4 Wed Dec 04, 2013 at 01:20:08 PM EST
1st, that fork touched some rando pants-shitting dude's boom-boom. Nobody wants to put it in their mouth after that, regardless of the scientific evidence that after it was disinfected and washed it was no different than any other fork.

2nd, this place could sit 2000 people at a time, so the forks are not what I would call "good silverware." They are just bulk foodservice forks, cheap and useful.

3rd, reputation. This story could have sunk them, especially if I didn't get rid of the fork.  It's bad enough that I used a fork.
