I don't own any guitars. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #1 Mon Dec 12, 2011 at 05:03:20 PM EST
So I had to choose 3.

Wait by technician (4.00 / 1) #2 Mon Dec 12, 2011 at 06:28:10 PM EST
I voted wrong...forgot I had 2 electric guitars.

Forgetting the number of guitars you own is a bad sign, I think, but my response should be 6 and not 5.

Huh, what? by purr (2.00 / 0) #26 Fri Jan 27, 2012 at 06:26:11 PM EST
If you add 2 to 5, isn't that number suppose to be 7.?.??

Unless you meant to say, I have 2 quitars not just 1.

And not two.

"in your household" since I don't have any bicycles in my house, but I do have a couple in the garage.

Since I have a door from the house to the garage, I included the bicycles.

Our garage is detached, with about six bikes and two motorcycles.

Does my Wii Guitar Hero Guitar count?

[ Parent ]

forgot about those by LilFlightTest (2.00 / 0) #11 Tue Dec 13, 2011 at 11:28:24 PM EST
if the Guitar Hero controllers count, then I guess our answer would be 5.

counting trikes, bigwheels and the like ? by sasquatchan (4.00 / 1) #5 Tue Dec 13, 2011 at 10:19:52 AM EST

probably should have been 10 by iGrrrl (4.00 / 1) #7 Tue Dec 13, 2011 at 12:33:37 PM EST
The hollowbody Epiphone is on loan, the gutstring acoustic is at the condo on the Cape, as is the old fretless bass.

4 family bikes, including the recently re-energized Nishiki Pueblo I bought in 1988 and put many, many miles on and loaned to toxicfur for a while. At least 4 guitars counting my husband's two 5-string Tobias basses (fretted and fretless), my Norman, and the kids' guitar. Oh, and his fretted Fender bass.

Huh. Ours goes up to 11

other instruments by iGrrrl (2.00 / 0) #10 Tue Dec 13, 2011 at 09:41:04 PM EST
We can only add a ukelele and a trombone. There's a sax, too, but no one plays that, and I didn't think we were counting pianos.

Yay 11!

Since these polls hang around a while by FlightTest (4.00 / 1) #9 Tue Dec 13, 2011 at 07:15:21 PM EST
I included the bike I haven't bought yet, but will have by the time the poll changes, if history is any indication.

Fender Squier
Ibanez acoustic
Ovation 12-string
Epiphone something-or-other
Samick bass
Dahon Speed (folding bike)
Some piece of crap mountain bike I got at Target

I also have a ukulele, a cello, and two violins (not to mention probably a dozen other instruments) but I'm not sure that quite counts.  No mandolin though. Yet.

the Geddy jazz bass, the prodigy electric, the dreadnaught, the giant sedona, the giant something-or-other, and the 80's schwinn cruiser.  Would have been 7, but I sold a bass to mns a few years back.

man, i need a beefy taco now.

5 bikes.

Um. A lot of guitars. Don't judge me.

Meant 7, not 6. Forgot about the nylon string guitar. 8 if you count the uke.

No bikes.

Uke by Herring (4.00 / 1) #22 Wed Jan 04, 2012 at 09:31:16 AM EST
I'd count a baritone uke as 0.667% of a guitar*. A "normal" uke isn't a guitar at all.

*For the person hanging around in the music shop waiting for his son's drumming exam to finish, that makes it far easy to play "Creep" on.

Course it is by motty (2.00 / 0) #23 Wed Jan 04, 2012 at 11:54:23 PM EST
It's what happens when you accidentally put a normal nylon string guitar in the wash on a high heat. The whole thing shrinks, obviously, and the bottom two strings fall off, due to physics. Then the remaining strings get raised a fourth, except for the D, which gets raised an octave and a fourth, also due to physics. Not that I can play the thing, mind you.

My answer would have been 9 by littlestar (2.00 / 0) #24 Wed Jan 18, 2012 at 02:10:00 PM EST
But I didn't get to poll. I don't really understand why that would be, was someone in my house randomly filling out polls under my username? I can't imagine why or how. It must be aliens.
