I read those books with I was 15 or so and I must say that if they had the covers Amazon is showing my mother never would have permitted it!

though I'm not sure if he did them, but they look like his style, are bad, the Raiders one just shows a galley with a ram.

WTF? by ammoniacal (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 02:17:10 PM EST
All of our pools used 6 lanes, George. 2-3-4 wins the meet every time. Swimming's where I learned the value of "Good enough."

Also, your team's coach couldn't find anyone eligible to dive? Gross mismanagement of resources. Sounds like I need to take over the programme.

The scoring is different for 5 lane pools by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 02:22:27 PM EST
according to fourteen year old, and their pool is a five lane pool, you know, 50 year old city school.

They have a diver, but she only knows five dives, and she needs to do six. I don't know why a cannonball, or belly flop won't work.

Their team is small, even combining two schools, it's hard to get enough city students to field a team.

I asked fourteen year old. Maybe that's too dangerous for you Left Coasters.

the problem with kittens by StackyMcRacky (2.00 / 0) #6 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 02:41:32 PM EST
is they are cats.  blech.

I'm becoming more of a cat person these days by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #8 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 02:44:50 PM EST
since they mostly take care of themselves, unlike our neurotic, aging, expensive thirteen year old dog, who would be happy to have me wait on him all day.

Plus, I haven't cleaned a litter box in nine years.

except kids can't lick their own butts.  that's a gross i can deal with better than cats.

Gor... by dmg (2.00 / 0) #12 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 03:54:48 PM EST
I read Tarnsman of Gor, and I have to say, it was actually not bad at all. I mean, it's not Proust or anything, but it's good entertainment.

The owner does want the kitten back, once her life settles down.

My favorite Bond is Lazenby by lm (2.00 / 0) #16 Fri Oct 08, 2010 at 08:49:08 PM EST
He was the On Her Majesty's Secret Service Bond, right? I think his Bond had more character development than any Bond up until Craig. But I'm not yet convinced that the character Craig is playing is Bond.

I think in a Holiary, I once confused Lazenby with Timothy Dalton. Dalton was superb in Lion in Winter. But Lazenby was the better Bond by far.

The sound tracks, of course, were very important. As a kid I used to own a number of them.

There are (at least) 2 more Bonds - Bob Holness (Moonraker) and Barry Nelson (Casino Royale)
