until you demonstrate what an Em or Lisa P might look like.

Dude, what do you think the imdb link is for by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #8 Fri Feb 05, 2010 at 04:11:37 PM EST
Em is Kristien Stewart, from some vampire movie iirc, and you need to watch the movie to figure out their personality.

Your life sounds nice by littlestar (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri Feb 05, 2010 at 01:54:17 PM EST
Your father seems very young, but now talking with CBB I realise, it's only cause my parents are old. I love that you are sewing, CBB doesn't do crafts (read: runs away terrified).

Also, we watched that movie and were was less impressed then everyone else I think, although I too was very happy to Velvet Underground and Lou represented, I don't think Nico got in but oh well. I thought that the Michael played the same character he always plays but the script was less inspired or smart or whatever, sort of lazy.

At least you get a Dr who speaks English right? by frog (4.00 / 1) #4 Fri Feb 05, 2010 at 02:18:26 PM EST
When my company in a boom year of profits switched health plans I had to move Drs and none of the Drs'on their list in 25 mile range seemed to speak English or to have been practicing for over 5 years.

My plan cost me $1,400 a year and then I had to pay $25 a visit - I only got 4 a year covered at $25 per visit - then it jumped after 4 visit to cost of  85 % of the cost per visit - the Dr sent my blood work to an out of network lab and I got stuck with the bill.

Minimum deductible of $25 per prescription with max total coverage of 1,000 k per year. I stopped filling my cholesterol medicine.

When I was looking at a major medical situaiton I found that the total in hospital coverage would be approx 2.5K.

Modern medical insurance seems to mean screw everyone but the insurance execs... But if I thought doing an insurance exec would get me a better deal, hell  the person they could hand me could be uglier than Dick Cheney meet Hillary Clinton and I just might do 'em.

I thought all the Doctors spoke English by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #5 Fri Feb 05, 2010 at 02:24:08 PM EST
Mind you, I haven't seen much of the early ones (Pertwee) or the newest ones, mostly Tom Baker.

Anyhow, while I like capitalism, I don't think health care should be for profit, since making money for the stockholders trumps providing medical care and the ones who need the care cost profits.

We have two local health insurance companies by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #6 Fri Feb 05, 2010 at 02:46:27 PM EST
and I was relatively happy with them, they were local, so they were aware of the big local hospitals and all the labs associated with them, and likewise all the local providers were affiliated with them. So why did we have downstate firms involved?

I wish I could require parents to do community service, but most of them would tell me to fuck off.

I've suggested she break the ice by asking her math teacher if she's related to the Kumar in Harold & Kumar, but she's never watched it.
