But life always dictates otherwise.
Glad you had fun though!
My wife and I once bought a cheap last-minute trip for a week on Santorini in an unspecified hotel, which turned out to be on Naxos. After having seen what little interestingness there was to be had in the Chora we decided to jump on the next catamaran to Athens, where we spent two nights before coming back. This being our first and so far last charter tour, we hadn't thought to inform anybody where we were going, so when we got back the tour guides were busy trying to find out where to get us reported missing. As far as we were concerned we had just bought a cheap plane ticket and a cheap hotel, not the ouzo parties at night.
The Acropolis was firmly wrapped up in plastic and scaffolding on that occasion; it seems to have come out well now. Need to go back and have a proper look.--Deyr fé, deyja frændr, deyr sjalfr it sama,
