But daily might be overdoing it.  A couple of times per week is probably enough.

Consider my 'Okay' votes as 'probably'.  I travel through London every Friday, getting into Waterloo usually around 19:30ish, and stopping off someplace for a few beers on the way through is usually doable.  Any other day it's just way too far to travel for random social stuff...

Since we had beer last time, so I'll push for a Friday drinks.  Dead easy to get to Borough from Waterloo.

I'll go for a Friday too. by ambrosen (4.00 / 1) #4 Wed Nov 19, 2008 at 02:23:44 AM EST
Think I'll take a day off and do some Londony things earlier on in the day.

Would it be possible to blag some space under your patio for the night, or have you grown out of that?

Excellent, be nice seeing you by Breaker (2.00 / 0) #5 Wed Nov 19, 2008 at 02:57:55 AM EST
Unfortunately the patio is all I have - MBW's brother & girlfriend have been staying with us for the last 3 weeks and will be here for the foreseeable until they get jobs and find a flat.  And the living room is currently a building site.

Might be able to offer you something closer to the date if the rellies have shifted out, but don't count on it.  You're welcome to put a tent up in the back garden though! :)

Where do UKians get tents, anyways? by Driusan (2.00 / 0) #6 Wed Nov 19, 2008 at 03:04:57 AM EST
Canadians have MEC and USians have REI, but does the UK even have enough outdoors to support outdoors stores?

There's hundreds of them. The biggest is probably Milletts, also Blacks are fairly large. Both websites seem to be having issues today.

We've only got little outdoorses, so we have to have shops for actual backpacking, not huge warehouses full of quad bikes/fixed wall tents with stoves/gigantic trailers/F350s.

There's some places where you can get yourself into trouble in the outdoors in this country, though.

If I am there, I would have space too by Dr H0ffm4n (2.00 / 0) #9 Wed Nov 19, 2008 at 04:54:30 AM EST
But there is only one Friday that I would maybe be there.

Dear Dr H by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #13 Mon Dec 15, 2008 at 10:22:00 AM EST
If you are coming on the 19th, could I ask you for a few square feet of your floor, etc. I'll bring a sleeping bag.

Many thanks if you are amenable.

And apologies for not asking earlier. It is because I'm crap.

If I'm there, you certainly can by Dr H0ffm4n (2.00 / 0) #14 Wed Dec 17, 2008 at 01:29:17 AM EST
sorry to be vague, but not sure if I can make it though

Many thanks. by ambrosen (2.00 / 0) #15 Thu Dec 18, 2008 at 07:43:06 AM EST
I'll bring a sleeping bag and aim for the 11.30pm train, so it works out either way.

I'm sure I've done that before, too.

Maybe I'll try booking a hostel from the pub or in the afternoon if you're not there and things turn out that way. Yay mobile intarweb!
