Civil servant. Do they have those in Rochester?

Yeah, my dad did well that way by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #2 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 06:28:47 AM EST
he didn't even have to take political loyalty tests, which the not_soon_enough_departed Bush administration has implemented (in the Attorney General's office).

Was he a right-winger? I can't remember if you mentioned that before of if I'm thinking of someone else.

My dad, ultra-leftist, was one of the more successful entrepreneurs compared to a lot of my friends' parents.

iMac. by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #5 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 07:01:10 AM EST
I have an indigo bubbly iMac that runs TIGAR! but not LEAPTARD! It doesn't run it well, but it runs it. More memory might help, but I'm all current generation now, so it's really just sort of a play machine for something to hose up without causing problems on my main machine now.

How do I tell what sort of imac it is by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #11 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 08:55:35 AM EST
I'd hate to waste money on something that only run OS.

Good question. by nightflameblue (2.00 / 0) #15 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 09:55:35 AM EST
I honestly don't know.

If you want one that's stuck in the past (TIGAR), lets talk. I was considering just junking mine in the near future. I wouldn't charge you more than shipping, and would probably chip in on that just to be rid of it. I'll even make sure it's working and loaded before I send it to you.

If only there were a website where you could by MohammedNiyalSayeed (4.00 / 1) #26 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 02:08:01 PM EST

search for text, then find answers to questions, like this answer... Perhaps some day. And I have some bad news; all machines will only run OS. It's what they do.

It's pretty easy to upgrade those old iMacs. by muchagecko (2.00 / 0) #17 Fri Sep 19, 2008 at 11:19:07 AM EST
My daughter has one that I added a bunch of stuff to a couple of years ago. It's running Panther.

It's good enough for the internet and anything else she needs to do. Although she does get pissed that games for the Mac are less common than the PC.

I think I paid $100 for it, but that was 3 years ago? I probably wouldn't pay more than $30 now.

but wajas also? I'll have to PM you my daughter's account name there. She's a waja goddess.

My daughter does most of those on her computer. But instead of Hannah Montana she's on iCarly.

webkinz, club penguin, icarly, and girlgogames.

She hasn't done waja yet, but I will have to ask.
