I've had a few alpine strawberries off the plants near the house already. The big ones will be a while longer though...

are delicious. All the more because you can't really store them up and serve them, you just have to eat them fresh off the bush.

Also, I vaguely remember this "physical comfort" thing, but somehow associate it with tears. Not sure why, and your mileage may vary, obviously.
