Flights are booked.
The only thing variable is if it is a quiet night in a nice pub or a til 5am in dodgy indie clubs in unknown parts of London.

Not getting much time off work this year by nebbish (4.00 / 1) #2 Thu Dec 14, 2006 at 01:17:43 AM EST
Which is a pain. Might try and organise a holiday in January to make up for it.

I fucking love Christmas. Me and my dad starting on the spirits at 8am, one of my mates coming over from Leeds for Xmas dinner and staying till boxing day, the whole family sat getting pissed together in front of the box. Fantastic.

...end up working over Xmas but hardly taken any holiday this year (even with all this time off I am carrying 9 days into next year...).

Xmas day is (still despite my attempts to be good) the one day of the year I have no issue starting off with booze.

I never seem to be able to get that drunk by nebbish (2.00 / 0) #6 Thu Dec 14, 2006 at 02:00:18 AM EST
on Christmas day. It's all the food. Plus Baileys isn't the easiest drink to get pissed on :-)

Taking up a bottle of Laphroaig this year though. Mmm.

Is that wishful thinking, or are congratulations in order?

Either way, my congratulations. Because it's Christmas I'll leave DullTrev to point out the obvious.

This Christmas by MrPlough (2.00 / 0) #8 Thu Dec 14, 2006 at 02:56:32 AM EST
I will be redundant. Tomorrow is my last day of work until I get a job, which should be maybe mid-January. So nice long break for me, and it means I can do my shopping on Monday morning rather than at the weekend.
No work.

Interviews are going well, and the slave traders are quoting salaries that exceed my current by quite a bit, so should have something sorted before Christmas! Which is nice.
