That's too big for a guinea pig. by ambrosen (4.00 / 1) #3 Thu Jul 06, 2006 at 03:29:49 PM EST
Also, I have eaten some lovely meat recently. I really must rapture over it in a diary.

Anyway, I thought you'd gone forever. Are you still in the West Midlands? Did you get a job after your degree? Did you get married yet?

So many questions. Please to be posting a diary.

So cute. plzpost more pix kthx. Are guinea pigs friendly? In other words, can you pick them up and cuddle with them, or are they like hamsters and gerbils - biting little bastards?

That one does look like he's begging for a treat there.

Guinea pigs are definitely more friendly than the lesser rodents.

Most of them don't bite, and if they are handled regularly when young they are very sociable. To take this picture, I sat at the edge of the cage and she just wandered up to the camera to see what was going on.

You can pick them up too, most guinea pigs don't mind and some of them like it. I used to have a guinea pig which would run onto your hand, which made picking her up a lot easier.

It's political correctness gone mad!

I can never decide what they're saying by gpig (4.00 / 1) #7 Fri Jul 07, 2006 at 01:16:31 AM EST
Are they agreeing with me? Oui, oui, oui oui! Are they saying their own name in Spanish? ¬°Cuy-cuy-cuy! Or are they just after some veg? In the end with guinea pigs, it is all about the veg.

I should post an audio clip too for full guinea pig effect ....

:)

Deciphering animal language by nebbish (4.00 / 1) #8 Fri Jul 07, 2006 at 01:41:31 AM EST
I've been working on it with my cat and will post a diary on the subject shortly. She has various meows that mean Thankyou, Happy, Want food, Hey! and You hate me. Thinking of recording them as MP3s...
