in columbus ohio. Might be a fun personal vacation for you to take.

That would conflict with an upcoming wedding by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #4 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:06:18 AM EST
I might prefer the Vintage motorcycle days in Lexington, but that conflicts with our family vacation.

Wow that's weird by spacejack (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:03:49 AM EST
I can't remember anyone who was forbidden to have friends over... I think I just had some friends whose parent(s) were too scary to want to hang out there.

I had a friend who'se house I never saw the inside by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #6 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:12:45 AM EST
of, we were pals for a few years. We then stopped hanging out (for other reasons) until paths crossed again, years later. He lived at the other end of my parents street, and was selling a rusty black Subaru, which became known as The Goat.

and now you know the rest of the story.

and I did go in his house, but never his parents.

SIDI makes motorcycle boots? by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:05:43 AM EST
I have a pair of SIDI cycling shoes.  They're the only pair of handcrafted Italian leather shoes I'll ever own.  Too bad I can't wear them with a suit.

Sidi makes push bike shoes? by georgeha (4.00 / 1) #5 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:10:23 AM EST
I just thought they made flashy but well made motorcycle boots that look best wrapped around a Guzzi, LaVerda, or Ducati, or some other expensive but high performing Italian bike. I was gifted a nice pair of size 10, sadly, I'm a 10 1/2. But they're going to a good home for many more miles of riding.

Leather, fake leather... by miker2 (2.00 / 0) #12 Mon May 01, 2006 at 11:58:41 AM EST
same difference to me.  Fake stuff probably weighs less, so it's all the better.  They are really comfortable shoes though, much more so than the Garneau Ergo Air Tri shoes I brought two years ago.

I just wish the carbon soled version wasn't so damn expensive.

WIPO: I could have kids over pretty much any time by lm (2.00 / 0) #7 Mon May 01, 2006 at 09:33:55 AM EST
Regardless of whether I was living with my mom or my dady, my parents tended to freak most kids out.

there was a group of kids in my neighborhood, we didn't spend much time inside but we were allowed inside even the nicer ones...not that we stayed long.  they made you feel uncomfortable anyway.

also for the first part of the poll, what about making out with girls? oh..yea probably bad for that to be in your poll, dad.

now that I think about it by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #10 Mon May 01, 2006 at 10:36:41 AM EST
I don't recall any summertime makeout sessions. I had a few in college, but those would be fall, winter, spring. I started dating Mrs. Ha in winter, so by the time summer rolled around we were less lovey dovey.

I never really had friends over by debacle (2.00 / 0) #13 Mon May 01, 2006 at 12:17:16 PM EST
Of my core group of friends, three of our mothers were completely fucking insane, one was strung out on painkillers, and the last force-fed you as soon as you entered her door.

Most times we opted for the painkillers simply because there was less hassle with comings and goings.
