Walton and Jabbar??? by Bob Abooey (2.00 / 0) #4 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 08:26:21 AM EST
Holy schnikes, Bill Walton and Kareem Abdul Jabbar wrote a book about negroes fighting in WWII????

Lordy loo, what next, The New Kids on the Block writing a book about nuclear fission??

Warmest regards,
--Your best pal Bob

Huh, some dude named Alcindor wrote the book by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #5 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 08:31:28 AM EST
his dad was a negro in WWII, but not a negro on a tank, though his buddy the transit cop was, and darn good shooter too (he liked to shoot out church steeples).

Those were the two biggest stoners to EVAR play in the ol NBA. I'm not sure if I can read that book knowing that they were likely whacked out on ganja the whole time they were writing it.

Warmest regards,

Even the Brits in 40's UKia by jump the ladder (2.00 / 0) #7 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 12:03:57 PM EST
Were amazed by the racism of the Americans.

They weren't really used to segregationion/other_band.html at all as lots of non-white trops from the Empire freely socialised whilst UK (different in the colonies of course).

I really don't understand why merkan elites were laregely unwilling to send off the undesirables to war the way Yerpians were. You have to be a really dedicated racist to go that route.

Everybody still hates me in this city and I hate everybody.

Paper! by LinDze (2.00 / 0) #12 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 02:32:36 PM EST
The most Paper Ive used/"owned", or the most Paper ive seen in a warehouse?

In the first case, rough math, Id say somewheres about 400 tons. Most paper Ive ever seen in a warehouse was the paper storage warehouse for the San Jose Mercury News. No idea on the total there, Id guess somewhere in the 10s of thousands of tons though. They kept ~2 weeks of paper in stock at all times.

The San Jose Mercury News comes on paper now? by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #15 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 03:21:08 PM EST
I thought they just had a website.

Yeah, I recall a customer site in Houston with tons of rolled paper, and a few skids of cut sheet.

Dont know about the future. And they were just bought by another outfit who promptly turned around and announced they were going to kick them out of the family.

work email by MillMan (2.00 / 0) #13 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 02:35:38 PM EST
I have....wait for it...40 megs of space for email. I have to save attachments to my computer and delete the emails pretty much as I get them. Emails from HR with 5 megs of clipart put me over the threshold on a weekly basis, sometimes preventing real emails from reaching me. Maybe I'll donate 100 bucks for a couple 60 gig drives that they can make into a RAID server. Unbelievable.

Everybody still hates me in this city and I hate everybody.

I often have to mail manuals (and draft by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #14 Fri Apr 21, 2006 at 03:19:04 PM EST
copies too) that run 1-2 megs each, various executables go about 2-3 megs, small customer files go about 4 megs (big ones fit on DVDs), so 250 megs is barely enough.
