NASA Langley, with the huge spheres by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #2 Tue Apr 04, 2006 at 08:34:30 AM EST
jutting into the sky like Quintuple F boobies, for the hypersonic wind tunnel.

We got to walk into one of the lower speed ones.

Had I not flunked grad school, I would have had a similar email addy.

but every round of budget talks (cuts) from congress has the civil servants and contractors crapping their pants and worrying about job security. Plus lots of hype from the local media. I was a contractor there, meaning no job security anyway, doing flight engineering stuff. Was neat. Learned how to fly a 757.

Why not... by The Fool (2.00 / 0) #4 Tue Apr 04, 2006 at 10:35:43 AM EST
work out to the Buffy sing-along episode?

It's the most geekiness you can fit onto one CD, without invoking the power of DEVO.

I can't take out all 10 DVD's at once and watch one hundred eps to find this.

Excercise music by ObviousTroll (2.00 / 0) #7 Tue Apr 04, 2006 at 11:37:54 AM EST
Generally classic rock on a rotation through my ipod, but lately I've been trying the Pod Runner podcast - each one is an hour of instrumental what-ever-you-call-it at a stated BPM.

The doctor said it was the worst case of cookie-blindness he'd ever seen.
Cowboy Bebop by ObviousTroll (2.00 / 0) #8 Tue Apr 04, 2006 at 11:41:25 AM EST
Bebop is great simply because the creator was apparently given a completely free hand to do whatever he wanted - and what he wanted, really, was to listen to a lot of different good music. Most of the episodes are homages to a particular style of music, with titles like Sympathy for the Devil and Heavy Metal Queen.

The downside is that, apparently, they couldn't get the US license for some of the original music, so what was originally Knocking on Heaven's Door is merely the Cowboy Bebop, the Movie in the US.

I have the whole series - one of the few I bothered to buy because I watch it every year or so.
