the quick answer is to install MS Office and Windows and get rid of that hippy crap off your PC :)

Can't by priestess (2.00 / 0) #2 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 03:23:39 AM EST
I'm at work, on the Mac. Windows won't install on it.

Office will, though. by MohammedNiyalSayeed (2.00 / 0) #3 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 03:37:27 AM EST

Not that I'd actually suggest installing it, just sayin'.

Surely one of your colleagues has MS Office by jump the ladder (2.00 / 0) #4 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 03:44:30 AM EST
Do the charting there and import into Open Office. the graphing wizard is very user friendly in the later versions of office.

Very few Windows machines here. I think Henry has the Mac version of Office on his laptop, but he's not in today.

create chart. by squigs (4.00 / 2) #6 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 03:51:31 AM EST
Select XY chart - pictuere of a scatter chart.  Select the one with the points joined up.

Doesn't that work?

Weird by priestess (4.00 / 1) #7 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 03:54:58 AM EST
I'm sure it didn't work last time but it has done now. Must have screwed it up somehow.

Cheers.

OO is like that by squigs (4.00 / 1) #8 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 04:00:21 AM EST
Still kind of buggy.  Even when compared with most versions of Office.

I really can't think of any improvement that the OpenOffice guys have made to the concept of the office suite, apart from not charging for it.

Yeh I agree by cam (2.00 / 0) #10 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 05:43:42 AM EST
I used some onbline word processor, cant remember what it was called now. It was a bit like a big ass version of google mail. I assume it used all sort of Ajax trickery. It was way better than the standard word processer.

Free means more than 'not charging for it' by priestess (2.00 / 0) #11 Mon Mar 20, 2006 at 09:39:00 AM EST
But other than making it free, there probably is no advantage. I rarely use these things to be honest, I'm way more comfortable in VIM.

Wait... I've already helped you more than the standard documentation does.
