how are you watching the games ? OLN's covereage isn't bad, but they don't carry many games..

I get Comcast (former HTS/home-team-sports) from DC on my cable for Caps games, but even then it's spotty.

Hockey package on satellite by cam (4.00 / 1) #3 Mon Feb 13, 2006 at 07:00:22 AM EST

I am hoping it has it all and isnt blacked out. Best check before I get disappointed.

Sounds like hockey rules have finally come good again. Maybe I should invest in some satellite TV in time for the playoffs...

Yes, they're great. by Driusan (2.00 / 0) #8 Mon Feb 13, 2006 at 11:21:31 AM EST
Assuming your definition of "good hockey" means "5 on 3 is good hockey because my team is full of a bunch of pussies who can't fucking score or take a hit so we need more special teams and other pointless rule changes to pump up the scores, devaluing the goals and making any records set require an asterix beside them because we're pandering to the American fucks who don't know a thing about hockey and think basketball and football type scores are how it should be."

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The only way to save hockey is to close every American franchise south of about Boston, get rid of the refs, and say "fuck you" to any team who doesn't have enough enforcers to protect their players.

In my humble opinion.

See, the thing is, Canadians think... by Metatone (2.00 / 0) #10 Tue Feb 14, 2006 at 02:22:24 AM EST
they have the rink size right. That's the real problem. I'm all for everything you say, so long as you increase the rink size.

for maximum gloating come playoff time. Or gold medal time, for that matter.

re: beating Toronto - those 2 losses have them out of the playoffs right now. Bwahahahaha. IIRC the Rangers have already clinched a playoff berth?

re: beating Ottawa - how quickly some forget

re: Rangers - are Rangers fans losing sleep wondering when if Jagr is going to have another motivational crisis?

re: salary cap - the Rangers were directly responsible for the cap, paying ludicrous salaries to a bunch of has-beens and driving up wages all over the league.

ps - what do you think about Carolina, or the western teams? I haven't seen many western teams this year, I'm not sure I like the new schedule.

You are only as good as your last game by cam (2.00 / 0) #5 Mon Feb 13, 2006 at 08:35:09 AM EST
and NY Rangers outworked and out-skated Ottawa last week. On the salaray cap, Philly, San Jose and St Louis were also big spenders who got zilch for their money. Colorado and Detriot on the other hand were big spenders whose monstrous payrolls paid off.

I havent seen many western teams either. I usually watch them late at night, but have been going to bed lately. As the play-offs near I will start watching them more to get a gauge of their abilities.

> You are only as good as your last game

Meh, if that was true the Sens would have stomped the Rangers last week like they did in December.

> NY Rangers outworked and out-skated Ottawa last
> week.

There are 2 more OTT-vs-NYR games scheduled, and who knows what will happen in the playoffs?

I cheerfully concede that crappy scheduling handicapped the Rangers.

Always meaning 'since I was 10,' which is probably a near enough approximation.

Gold is going to Russia in men's, Canada in women's. You can't stop the commies.

Also, the Republique du Qu├ębec can kick Alberta's ass in hockey any day (and will break away first.) It's just a simple fact.
