Needless to say, dealing with insurance is hectic, but I've learned that it's simply not worth getting liability alone. The process and inconvenience is overwhelming. With full coverage I could have had a rental this whole time, and more importantly, I wouldn't have to do with other people's insurance.

What's really surprising is the minimum levels that states set for liability insurance. And unfortunately for me, California has the lowest, set at $5k for property damage.
