Sorry about all the accidents by muchagecko (4.00 / 1) #4 Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 05:19:26 PM EST
but you've really cheered me up with the little bit o' Elvis Costello. I've had him in my head singing since I first read this diary.

...to this and "Olivers Army". Hated him since he went all Country and Western on us.... :-)

He's been all over the music genre map. by muchagecko (4.00 / 1) #9 Thu Jan 31, 2008 at 07:18:25 PM EST
I love The Juliet Letters. Then there's Painted from Memory which he did with Burt Bacharach. He's even been writing some songs for his wife, Diana Krall, which are straight up jazz. He did that ballet. And his The Delivery Man is more blues than country.

I guess I'm just saying you can't pigeon-hole Elvis.

p.s. have I told you the story of how I almost kissed him?

Last night, I sat in Half-Price Books for close to an hour, reading an Elvis bio. Didn't buy it tho.

I have to say that despite him being immensely talented, he's not the first guy I'd kiss.

I would have kissed him, by muchagecko (4.00 / 2) #16 Fri Feb 01, 2008 at 09:24:41 AM EST
but his second wife, Cait O'Riordan, was in the tour bus looking fierce. Elvis was not the most faithful husband, and I decided that I wouldn't add any more trouble in her life.
