That's the type of thing they need to teach in school. It'd keep history interesting enough to not put the entire class to sleep, and then the huge, sweeping changes these individuals made might actually stick in people's heads because you know the people involved as people instead of figureheads.

BTW, any reading sources you could provide with more anecdotes like yours would be appreciated. I love reading of historical figures in their everyday life.
