You have to give him a two-syllable nickname for the short lines, perhaps "the Wash":

God save George Washington,
Long live George Washington,
God save the Wash.
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign prez over us,
God save the Wash.

The 1788 version I've seen goes:

God save George Washington,
Long live George Washington,
The Great, the Good.
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us,
The Great, the Good.

Different versions change it more or less.
