I maintain to this day that the original 'Die Hard' is a genuinely excellent film, and still, quite possibly, the greatest action movie ever made. It's kind of like 'Jaws' in that it was so good at what it did -- and didn't try to over-extend itself -- that it's kind of been smeared by implicit association with every borrowing action film that came after (which, let's face it, is most of them, including its sequels).
