Numb and blase by Phage (4.00 / 1) #2 Mon Jun 11, 2007 at 10:23:15 AM EST
Been like that for decades. You have to find something else. If work isn't going to do it for you, and your family is dysfunctional, what have you got left ?

No I don't know. Wish I did.

too bad work and the family keep me from tearing down the starter assembly again and sticking a O ring up there to stop my oil leak.

An O-ring ? Where ?

I've always thought that a hobby can be the saving of a man.

Probably on the crankshaft by georgeha (2.00 / 0) #5 Mon Jun 11, 2007 at 10:54:38 AM EST
as it leaves the crankcase.

There is supposed to be an oil seal on the crankshaft where it attaches to the starter clutch, but they're no longer made, so I'm thinking some O-rings might do it.

Somehow I'm getting fresh oil leaking from my front sprocket area, and when I open up the starter clutch cover, I see lots of fresh oil there. There was a key width sized hole in my bottom crankcase that I filled with JB Weld epoxy, maybe that didn't hold.

The oil isn't a lot, but it bothers me and I have less confidence in the bike.
