I only heard that recently. Or at least, the magnitude of his nice-guy ness only struck me then.

I had (female) schoolfriends with massive crushes on him. They're probably still Spurs fans, so you can thank him for that.

Don't remember any of his football, though. I had to plump for Gascoigne, because he's the only player who's ever done stuff that's really amazed me. Only a fairweather footy observer anyway, me.
