I put out an order for a replacement audio interface today. (An M-Audio Delta 44, FYI. I decided against USB after all.) If it arrives in a suitable timeframe I may enter the MFC.

I meant to comment in your diary about how happy I am with my M-Audio Delta 66, only it looks like you use MIDI which it doesn't do, which conundrum, coupled with being too drunk, meant I never posted. Anyway, the 44 being just the 66 without the SPDIF stuff (which I've never used anyway, not having anything to plug in the other end of it) and cheaper, I reckon you'll be pretty happy with it; it's good value and pro-quality audio etc., and plays nicely with everything.

that's ok by komet (4.00 / 1) #12 Tue Mar 07, 2006 at 06:48:19 PM EST
I have a Steinberg USB MIDI interface that's been lying around for the past 4 years. Plus the MIDI part of the broken interface still works - I might just leave it like that.

I selected the Delta because it's cheap, supports GSIF (Gigastudio is one of the very few pieces of software I actually forked out for, so I figured I might as well get hardware that supports it properly), and I never used the SPDIF on the old card. I have a microphone interface in the mixer, so no problem there. Plus the Delta has been around for ages and still gets driver updates, which to me means they have developers and EEs who are worth a damn.
